Privacy Policy

Last updated: 2026-10-02

1. Who is responsible for your data

The data controller is the creator of Banana Smite (“we”). This policy covers Banana Smite: the League of Legends statistics website and the Banana Smite Discord bot (together: the “Service”). Contact for data matters: through the Discord server where the Banana Smite bot runs.

2. What data we collect

Website

  • League of Legends player data from the Riot Games API: Riot ID (name and tag), account identifier (PUUID), server, rank and LP, match history and match timelines, champion mastery. Riot Games makes this data publicly available. We store it when someone searches for a player or opens their profile or a match, and when collecting matches for statistics (tier list, builds).
  • Visit statistics – only with your consent: the section of the site you visit (e.g. tier list, profile) and a daily anonymous visitor hash computed from the IP address and browser data together with a secret key. The IP address is not stored and the hash changes every day.
  • Cookies and browser storage – described in section 5.

Discord bot

  • Linked account: your Discord account ID if you link it to a League of Legends account with the /link command, together with that account's Riot ID, PUUID and server.
  • Settings: your chosen bot language (/language) and, for Discord servers, the server language and the notification channel set by the server administrator (server and channel IDs).
  • Command input (e.g. a player name) – used only to run the command; we do not keep a command history.
  • The bot does not read messages in channels – it only works with slash commands and buttons.
  • If a server administrator enables notifications, the bot posts the ranked game results of people who linked their account and are members of that server in the chosen channel.

3. Purposes and legal bases

PurposeDataLegal basis
Game statistics, player profiles, searchplayer data from the Riot Games APIlegitimate interest (Art. 6(1)(f) GDPR) – providing game statistics in line with Riot Games developer policies
Bot features: linked account, language, server leaderboard, notificationsDiscord ID, linked account, settingsperformance of the service you request (Art. 6(1)(b) GDPR)
Visit statisticsanonymous visitor hash, page view countsconsent (Art. 6(1)(a) GDPR)
Security and abuse prevention (e.g. login attempt limits)technical request datalegitimate interest (Art. 6(1)(f) GDPR)

We do not show ads, do not sell data and do not profile users for marketing. We do not make decisions based solely on automated processing that produce legal effects concerning you.

4. Who we share data with

  • Riot Games – we send requests to the Riot Games API (e.g. a player name or identifier) to fetch game data.
  • Discord – the bot runs on the Discord platform, so command data passes through Discord servers in line with Discord's privacy policy.
  • Game image servers – Riot Games (Data Dragon) and CommunityDragon. Your browser loads champion, item and rune images from them, so they see your IP address.
  • The hosting provider running the Service may keep technical server logs.

Riot Games and Discord are based in the USA – data they process may be transferred outside the European Economic Area under the terms described in their privacy policies.

5. Cookies and browser storage

We do not use advertising cookies or third-party analytics tools (e.g. Google Analytics).

6. How long we keep data

  • Anonymous visitor hashes – 90 days, then deleted. Page view counts (with no data about people) are kept.
  • Matches used for statistics – kept indefinitely, but without Riot IDs or player identifiers (we only store the champion, role, items, runes and result).
  • Stored profiles, ranks and player names – as long as needed for profiles, search and average rank; we remove them at the player’s request.
  • Full matches viewed on profiles – a limited number of recently viewed matches; the oldest are removed automatically.
  • Discord account link – until you use the /unlink command. Server settings – until they are turned off or you ask for removal.

7. Your rights

You have the right to access, rectify and erase your data, to restrict processing, to data portability, to object to processing based on legitimate interest and to withdraw consent at any time (without affecting the lawfulness of earlier processing). You can also lodge a complaint with your data protection authority.

You can remove your Discord account link yourself with /unlink. For anything else – e.g. to remove your profile – contact us (through the Discord server where the Banana Smite bot runs) with your Riot ID. We will reply within one month.

8. Security

Only the administrator has access to the data, the administration panel is password-protected and service access keys are never published. We only keep the data needed to run the Service.

9. Children

The Service is not intended for children under 13. People under 16 may only consent to visit statistics with the permission of a parent or guardian – otherwise they should choose “Essential only”.

10. Changes to this policy

We may update this policy, e.g. when Service features change. The current version is always on this page with its last update date. See also the Terms of Service.
